Info
The Jacquard Cyanotype Kit is a two-component set for creating photographic blueprints on paper and fabric using the traditional cyanotype process. One of the earliest photographic techniques, cyanotype was developed in 1842 and is known for producing distinctive, rich Prussian Blue monochromatic prints.
Harness the power of sunlight to create detailed prints from almost any object that casts a shadow, including plants, leaves, lace, tools, toys, and stones. You can also use digitally printed photographic negatives to create detailed photographic prints on paper or fabric. The process is quick and easy to use, making it suitable for photographers, mixed media artists, printmakers, quilters, and more.
Cyanotype can be used on natural-fibre and porous surfaces including cotton, linen, silk, canvas, wood, paper, and leather. The kit contains enough chemistry to make approximately 65 8 x 10in prints on paper or 50 8 x 10in prints on fabric.
The kit contains two components: Part A – Potassium Ferricyanide (0.8oz/22.68g) and Part B – Ferric Ammonium Citrate (1.9oz/53.86g). When combined, these light-sensitive chemicals create the cyanotype solution used to produce the characteristic blue prints.
