Info
Holbein Duo-Aqua Oil is an artist quality watermixable oil paint made with water-soluble linseed oil. It has all of the handling characteristics of traditional oil paints but can be thinned or cleaned up with just water. These paints have a uniform drying time, and will hold brushmarks and dry to a lustrous sheen like traditional oils. Duo-Aqua is available in 83 colours, 75 of which offer optimum permanence. These 83 colours are free of pigments deriving from heavy metals; for painters who can't live without their Cadmiums and Cobalts, these colours are now available and are known as Duo-Aqua Elite Colours. They have the same working properties as the original Duo-Aqua colours and are formulated in the same manner; the only difference is the pigments.
This is a 50ml tube of Holbein Duo Aqua Titanium White. The most popular white, Titanium White is inert and non-reactive under most ordinary conditions. It has greater opacity than lead or zinc but tends to yellow in the short term. It is slower drying than lead but faster than zinc. It handles and mixes well, and its surface qualities may be strengthened by mixture with zinc oxide which also helps reduce the sometimes too intense tinting power inherent in titanium pigment.

Rich smooth paint, flows well

Lovely paints to work with. This is a very useful color, very dull dark yellow.

I like these paints as the colours are good and the=aint is smooth and rich. I use water-soluble oils to avoid toxic fumes and make brush cleaning easy

The quality of Holbein Duo Aqua paints is just what I require. Professional quality artist's paint that is easy and safe to use; with no need for solvents and can be rinsed with water. Dioxazine Violet has been a useful pigment for me which I carefully add into colour mixes. It is a beautiful colour and offers additional range to the artist's palette other than French Ultramarine or Alizarin Crimson for example.

Very impressed at how this version of Raw Umber allows sufficient time to be utilized before drying. All the darker pigments tend to dry fast but this is a forgiving colour. The actual pigment itself is proving very useful to me. I believe it can be used with confidence as a beautiful coolish chocolatey brown which sits quite well in colour mixes.

Holbein is very good! I'm hesitating as the LOVE this color .between this and Pyrol Red..

Looking forward to experimenting with vibrant under paintings using this. I already have Quinacridone Gold, and that is like sunshine in a tube. Hoping this will be like red hot lava in a tube!
Review
very good, as always with Jackson's stuff
Review
It's not the brown pink I was hoping for, more caramel as described, but I still hoped it might be brown pink!

Colour wasn't quite what I expected. I wanted something similar to the Green/gold acrylic I already have. Quality of the paint is good.

Holbein have very high standard paint in my view and the water soluable oil colour is a God send! I believe I am in fact starting to achieve greater results with this paint.

This is good stuff, but then you already know its the best (water soluble) product on the market.

too early to make a complete judgement but seems a very good product

I don't have a great deal of experience of Oils to judge these however I have traditional oil and am now trying the water mixable paints, for use during studio evenings. So far the water mixable paints are quite impressive and better if using the correct medium with them, gives the paint a nice elasticity. Would not recommend using water as they become very thin - OK for an initial wash. I bought Cobra and Holbein to try with my existing Artisan and so far can't see a great deal of difference between them.

Opaque, but this was what I wanted for part of a wintry sky. Did not flow very well though, so next time will add a bit of Schminke ox gall (which I bought in a half pan size also from Jackson's) to make it flow better.

Probably the best water mixable oil paints in the world

My favourite green! Very pleased to be able to buy in water soluble oils. Handles well, good, thick consistency.I wish the website had more info about pigments in the different colours and paints..

I am really impressed at the versatility of this colour. I am working on a painting of five children on a 50 cm x 40 cm canvas, needless to say the children are individually quite small. With the eyes being tiny and potentially dead, this colour adds a sparkle and much needed life to the portrait. It's also wonderful for hair. As it is strongly pigmented a little goes a long way.

Quinacridone Scarlet is a wonderful colour! It somehow manages to be both warm and cool, depending on how it's used and has quickly become my favourite red.

The Duos are an excellent series of paints.

The Holbein paints are the best water soluable paints I have used by a long margin.
