Rich, vibrant and full of character, Jackson’s Professional Oil paints are meticulously crafted by skilled artisans using only the finest grade pigments and the purest filtered and refined linseed oils. Each colour is formulated to reveal the natural beauty and particular character of the pigment used.
After mixing, the pigments and oils are passed through water-cooled mills – these are made of stone or steel, according to pigment type. We grind our colours as many times as needed to release their full colour potential. Some pigments like Ultramarine only need gentle milling, whereas coarser earth pigments must undergo a lengthier process on the mill to achieve optimum dispersion. Colours are then rested until they reach an equilibrium of absorption and re-milled if necessary. In order to maintain optimum colour strength, no extenders or fillers are used.
The intense colour saturation and purity of this range are achieved by high pigment loading coupled with our traditional production process. We work to ensure our colours have the maximum lightfastness that is possible for every pigment.
