Etching Inks & Modifiers
Modern intaglio inks are not so far removed their early incarnations - mixtures of soot derived from lamps and furnaces combined with oil set alight to burn for long periods of time. Technology now allows greater control in the production of Carbon Black pigments and manufacturers have developed inks with varying properties of tone and viscosity, of which information can be found within the ranges. We stock coloured inks of high lightfastness and pigment load.
Watersoluble oil based inks can be cleaned up with soap and water. Traditional formula oil based inks may be scraped from inking slabs and cleaned up with vegetable oil - whichever you choose, you can reduce your use of studio solvents.
