Jackson's : AKOYA White Synthetic Brushes : Series 363 / 364 / 365 / 366 / 367 / 368 / 369
Jackson’s Akoya brushes, so named because their pure white silky hairs resemble the Akoya pearl, have been developed to match and build upon qualities offered by the leading natural hog brushes.
Colour and liquid absorbency is maximised by craters in each hair that gather pigment and replicate natural hairs in a way that other synthetic brushes are not capable of.
In addition to this, the Akoya brushes maintain the excellent spring and shape that one would expect of a synthetic brush, reinforced by the two thicknesses of hair used. These brushes are designed to last, thanks to a heating process that causes the hairs to retain their shape after use, and the strength of the filaments themselves. This durability means that you won't have bristles breaking off in your paint. With slightly stiffer hair than our Procryl brushes, the Akoya exhibits the best characteristics of both the highest grade natural and the finest synthetic brushes.
Staff tip:
When cleaning synthetic brushes that have been used with oil paint it is advisable to not use turpentine as it will start to break down the synthetic filaments within the brush. Instead we recommend to use an odourless / low-odour brush cleaner.
Please note that these synthetic brushes do not contain any animal products, either in the varnish, bristles, paint or glue.

I love these brushes, I use some for oils and have another set that I use for acrylic painting. They just feel so good to paint with and are long lasting. Not too stiff or too soft. (Posted on 12/01/2023)Rating - Review by Luiz
Excellent brush. Optimum shape maintenance using oil paints. Replace with advantage the bristle brushes when sharper brush strokes is targeted. The price has risen above expectations for a synthetic brush but the overall analysis is very good. (Posted on 01/11/2021)Rating - Review by Justin
Excellent brush. Very good for long smooth curved edges in oil. (Posted on 11/06/2021)Rating - Review by Judith
Very good brushes, excellent for moving oils around with great control. I bought this brush illustrated No 3 but my Round is not as pointed and I do look after my brushes cleaning them thoroughly. (Posted on 14/01/2021)Rating - Review by Judith
Really like these Akoya synthetic brushes. Bought the first on special offer and then followed up with another purchase. Great for Oils. (Posted on 14/01/2021)Rating - Review by Natalia
I am in love with this oil paint brush and would definitely buy it again! (Posted on 05/11/2020)Rating - Review by Feefo
Should prove invaluable in painting those very fine details with even the thickest paint. I will also try them with glazes, to spread the thin glaze layers over the required area before a softer brush is used. (Posted on 19/04/2020)Rating - Review by Feefo
Great to use - lovely strokes (Posted on 21/12/2019)Rating - Review by Feefo

Used with water mixable oil paints these brushes perform very much like tradition hog hair, with the advantage of their being totally vegan friendly. Acrylic paint seems to be harsher on the synthetic bristles, but this could be down to my painting technique! (Posted on 05/07/2018)Rating - Review by Feefo
These Akoya brushes are my current favourites for painting with acrylics, not too soft like some others, but with good flexibility in the bristles (Posted on 03/07/2018)Rating - Review by Feefo
Great value. Plenty of bounce, not too soft, Akoya are my favourite brushes for acrylic painting (Posted on 29/06/2018)Rating - Review by Feefo

An excellent brush. Durable and holds its shape really well. As a vegan oil painter, I'm constantly looking for good synthetic brushes, and this is definitely one of them. There are lots of soft synthetic brushes but fewer that mimic hog bristle. I will be buying more of these in different sizes and shapes! (Posted on 03/07/2017)Rating - Review by Feefo

Good value with springy bristles that keep their shape. (Posted on 07/01/2017)Rating - Review by Tad
I have started to use these brushes and they really are the best brushes going around.I have tried many. They can sit in turps for weeks and still come up really well. They last a long time retain their springiness and the smaller brushes are much better for fine detail. Better than expensive sables which don't last nearly as long and are also prone to deteriorate quickly if neglected (Posted on 20/12/2016)Rating - Review by Feefo
Excellent for acrylic painting. It is so springy and yet soft enough to be quite flexible. I will be ordering more of these (Posted on 09/07/2016)Rating - Review by Feefo
I've given up with small bristle brushes. These do the job very well and keep their shape a lot longer. (Posted on 10/10/2015)Rating - Review by Denise Laurent
These Akoya brushes are wonderful with water soluble oils. I use the Holbein Aqua Duos and Jacksons own brand. You need brushes that have all the qualities of a good hog but can take being used in water as well. These synthetic bristle brushes are perfect. They're springy and keep their shape very well indeed. (Posted on 20/08/2015)Rating - Review by Traci Newton
I am using Akoya brushes with Holbein duo aqua oils and am really impressed with the quality. They are neither too firm nor too soft, hold the paint well, and much easier to use than any other brush I have tried so far. (Posted on 20/08/2015)Rating - Review by Feefo
