I ordered 140lb to test this new type of paper. As experimentalist, I loved it. It arrived cut in quarter and I found this solution very suitable for me. As every new watercolour paper, you have to try it and be confident to work on it. Once, you have learnt how it works, then you can appreciate the results. I prefer to work on extra rough texture and with a lot of water, this paper dod not disappointed me. I would suggest to Jackson to create a sample pack for testing. I think it will be useful for artists to know about handmade papers and to experiment.

I am an experimental Watercolourist and I like recycling. This watercolour paper 100% handmade and recycled goes over my expectation! First, I tested it with watercolour paints and I moved to Japanese watercolour and ink, mixing media. I love the effect on the rough texture. In my personal opinion, it works well with granulated pigments, too. As in the info, you have to be confident in your skills but I would recommend to try it for unusual effects even if you are not so advanced, You can be surprised!!!

Very heavyweight, rough surface. Withstands a lot of water without buckling. Needs prepping with a coat or two of gesso

I now have the extra rough eco paper. It takes a bit (ok, a lot) of getting used to. But it does give a very different look to my watercolours. It's also good for acrylics.

This is very different to any other watercolour paper I have used before. Very thick and stiff. I'm having fun experimenting with it and it provoked a lot of interest amongst my fellow art class members. Will keep persevering and may try a smoother finish.

This is a lighter weight version of the 560lb version. I found this one easier to use - it can be cut with scissors. I made a number of fun pictures using the absorbency of the paper - ink will run pleasantly into the surface when damp. The paper has body - it doesn't crinkle. The surface is quite irregular and very soft. It has a very "handmade" and "craft" type feel and look. Fun and interesting surface for special projects. It's not easy to tear or cut, so next time I'll make sure to order sheets that are close to the size I need, rather than dealing with the whole big sheet. Inspiring and fun.

This is an unusual surface, with irregular edges and an obvious "handmade" look and feel: uneven surface and some dots and brown spots. It's soft, absorbent, and uneven like, say a cardboard egg box. It's almost like paper maché. So it's a challenging surface to work on, not at all like normal watercolour paper. I liked it, though, for experiments and special project work with larger brushes. This is very thick and stiff paper, more like cardboard. I found it hard work to cut it with scissors and it's impossible to tear. Next time I'll ask for it to be cut to 1/4 or 1/2 size, which I notice that Jackson's offer to do. An interesting addition to my collection of inspiring papers.

I didn't expect this paper to be quite so rough. the roughness is acceptable but the big drawback is that it isn't flat. even with stretching Icant get rid of the cockling.

It's good, very highly textured paper for watercolour. I've used a couple of sheets, and there is a fair amount to learn with it! Marked down a little because there can be blemishes on the surface occasionally.

Absolutely love this paper. It's different to the norm and therefore a little tricky to master with watercolours. But when you are prepared to experiment, the effects can be beautifully dramatic. I love this paper, this is my second order of a full pack in the biggest size, but not my last. I just wish they did one even bigger!

Very good value paper for the watercolour artist. Smooth to medium surface was not available but this is idea for some painting outside. A dryish brush of Paynes grey dragged across the surface captures this summer's rainy weather perfectly!
