Universal Primed Fine Linen CL535 on MDF Board - 30 cm x 40 cm

The linen is glued on to a sheet of MDF with PH Neutral adhesive which not only fixes the linen to the board but also forms sufficient barrier between the board and linen to protect the linen from any impurities. This superior linen weave will enhance your enjoyment and the appearance of your painting.

These boards are made with Belle Arti 535 Fine Linen. It is produced to the highest standards in Italy and each stage of its production is carefully monitored, right down to the purchase of the yarn.

I found this to be a very nice surface to paint on and it is currently my favourite.
The boards are well presented with nicely dressed edges. The label on the back references hand-made and finest linen. It is also of a sensible size and are not trying to imitate a barn door (Belle Arti take note). This projects a sense of quality.
I would prefer these' handmade in-house' boards to be available in imperial sizes (like most of the panels branded as Jackson’s). They will then fit perfectly into UK standard frame sizes. The two largest sizes are close enough to make little difference, I have found this not to be the case with some of the smaller metric-sized panels that I have used.

These are a fantastic product. Linen is, without doubt, the best surface to paint on but can be expensive. I like to frame my paintings and this can be tricky with a stretched linen. These boards are a perfect solution. They come in a variety of surfaces and can be obtained with a white primer or a natural finish. The MDF board ensures they do not bend and the painting surface is excellent. When you also consider the great price, then you cannot argue against this product. I would recommend any painter to order one and give them a go - you may well never go back to stretched canvas or linen. (Posted on 16/03/2017)
