SECOND LIFE ART MATERIALS
ArtCycl is a community-driven donation and resale initiative that gives pre-loved art materials a second life. By donating your surplus supplies, you help reduce waste and make creative tools more accessible to artists on a budget. We carefully sort all donated items and resell them at a lower cost, or pass them on to partner charities, schools, and community art groups.
All proceeds go to Arts for Dementia - a charity dedicated to supporting people living with dementia, and their carers, through meaningful artistic experiences.
How It Works
Leave your pre-loved art materials in the donation box in our Dalston Shop, or hand them to our shop staff, and we will carefully sort them.
Look out for the ArtCycl labels in the shop.
All donated items are non-returnable or refundable.
What We Accept
We gratefully accept usable and clean art materials. This includes (but isn’t limited to):
- Oil, watercolour, and acrylic paints
- Brushes, palettes, and painting tools
- Canvases, boards, and surfaces
- Sketchbooks, pads, and loose paper
- Drawing materials including pencils, pastels, charcoal, and pens
- Inks, printmaking supplies, and crafting tools
What We Can’t Take
We’re unable to accept:
- Dried, expired, or leaking materials
- Aerosol sprays or hazardous chemicals
- Heavily damaged sketchbooks or paper
- Broken tools
- Furniture or large items
We reserve the right to decline donations that don’t meet these standards.
What Happens to Your Donation
Once received, your materials may:
- Be resold at significantly reduced prices to help support emerging and price-conscious artists
- Be donated directly to art-focused charities, community groups, or schools
Where The Money Goes
All proceeds made from ArtCycl sales support organisations that bring art to those who need it most.
Our current primary beneficiary is Arts for Dementia, who provide creative workshops and experiences to those affected by dementia and their carers.
LESS WASTE, MORE ART
