PanPastel: Revolutionary Pastel Colour
PanPastel is the first pastel colour range that allows artists to mix and apply pastel-like paint, bringing a new dimension to the world of pastels.
Developed by artists Bernadette Ward and Ladd Forsline, PanPastels combine the vibrancy and purity of traditional pastels with a unique cake-like format, enabling effortless blending and minimal dust.
Since its inception in 2007, PanPastel has been crafted in a small, dedicated factory in rural Pennsylvania by a close-knit team. Each colour is loaded with high quality artist pigments, achieving concentrated, rich hues that retain the softness and depth pastels are known for. The innovative pan format not only makes the colours easier to use, but also inspires artists to explore new painting, drawing, and mixed-media techniques.
PanPastel also makes Sofft Tools for applying PanPastel. Each tool has a unique shape and size, based on artists’ brushes. They are versatile, reusable, and easy to clean. Sofft Tools are made from specially formulated micropore sponge.
PanPastel's founders envisioned a product that would resonate with pastelists and painters alike, providing a dry medium with paint-like fluidity. Artists worldwide have since embraced PanPastels for traditional techniques and contemporary mixed-media applications, pushing creative boundaries in exciting new directions.
Golden Artist Colors welcomed PanPastel and Sofft Tools into its brand family in 2022, continuing PanPastel’s legacy of quality and innovation. Whether for professional pastelists or beginners, PanPastel provides the versatility to create with ease and precision, inspiring artists to explore and experiment.
