Holbein Artists' Coloured Pencils are a range of soft and vivid high quality coloured pencils from leading art materials manufacturer Holbein.

Each pencil has an extremely soft and buttery feel with a vibrant colour output. Holbein use high-grade pigments which exhibit little fading or discolouration by light. The mixture of oils, waxes, and premium pigments results in a very thick layer of colour that is vivid and permanent.

Holbein Artists' Pencils pencil have a comfortable 7.8 mm round barrel with a thick 3.8 mm core, giving artists the ability to lay down a lot of colour at once. The pencils are pre-sharpened and require use with a good quality sharpener because of their softness. This softness and the richness of colour make them ideal for colourful works or for enhancing aspects of a drawing that you want to stand out.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Holbein Artists’ Coloured Pencils, Holbein have created this limited edition wooden box set. The set comes in a beautifully crafted wooden box and contains the complete Holbein collection of artists’ coloured pencils. The box is made in Japan from eco-friendly plywood sourced from Hokkaido forest-thinned timber and recycled paper, and is joined with safe, non-formaldehyde adhesive. The lid is natural solid wood, and the layered construction of three retractable trays makes it possible to view all 150 colours at once. The edges of the lid and trays have been thoughtfully designed with inclined surfaces so that they can be smoothly stacked on top of each other.
