Jackson’s Oil Paper is ideal for use in the studio or for creating work on the go.
Features 230gsm Natural White paper with a canvas texture, which is sized for oil painting. The paper is made with cotton and lignin-free wood pulp and is acid-free, FSC Certified, and vegan-friendly.
Jackson’s paper range includes blocks and sheets for watercolour, oil, and acrylic, and each paper is designed to provide excellent adhesion for each medium. Each block contains 15 sheets.

These Jackson's Oil Blocks are perfect for my way of working. When I formulate an idea for a painting I tend to start with quick, smaller painted images that eventually form the basis for a larger piece, so the Jackson's Oil Blocks make this process very easy as the pages come out smoothly, they are gummed on all four sides and make it ideal for securing the paper whilst painting.Rating
Compared to other brands of oil paper blocks, the Jacksons block is my preferable choice as it provides a stable, smooth surface with a slight tooth so adds a good bit of texture when painting, and also imitates a similar surface to that of a primed, cotton stretched canvas so is particularly useful if you’re just starting out with oil paints, as these are an easier, and less intimidating surface to paint on before using a stretched canvas.
For the amount of pages you get, and the quality, the price is very affordable, and I love the fact that they have a miniature size at 3x4 inches! (Posted on 09/08/2022)
