Japanese Rubber Ink Scraper : 70mm
A useful rubber scraper for clearing up ink from inking trays and plates. These rubber scrapers are often used in Japan for applying ink to intaglio etched and engraved plates as they will not scratch the metal.

I use this to apply sizing and gesso to raw canvas and oil primer to gessoed canvas (both stretched and on home made panels). It gives a firm flat surface that still shows the weave, whilst pushing the gesso and primer firmly into the surface. Unlike a palette knife or brush, the finish is smooth with little or no waste. I just wish they made it in a bigger size (Posted on 12/05/2021)Rating
