Jo Sonja : Artists' Mediums : Kleister Medium

Jo Sonja Kleister Medium is a semi-transparent acrylic medium added to paint to increase body and create textural patterns for faux finish techniques such as faux bois and other finishing techniques. It also increases transparency and extends drying time, making it useful for decorative work that needs more open working time.

It can be tinted with colour and applied over a dry basecoat to create patterned or textured effects with tools such as brushes, rags, sponges, plastic, or graining tools. It can also be used as a general painting medium for strokework or to prepare smoked backgrounds. Because it slows drying and curing, thorough curing is needed before further decoration or varnishing.
