Manetti Agate Burnishers are wooden gilding tools fitted with polished agate stone tips for polishing leaf in water gilding. Used once the gilded surface is dry and stable, they help create a smooth, polished finish by applying controlled pressure to the leaf.
The range includes different tip shapes for working across different geometric surfaces, allowing more suitable handling on varied contours and details. For best use, the agate tip should be warmed slightly by rubbing it quickly on a wool cloth before polishing, and the tool should be stored carefully as the stone is sensitive to scratching and damage.
