St Cuthberts Mill Millford Watercolour Paper Blocks are a professional artist's surface inspired by the much-loved, discontinued Whatman watercolour paper. Mould-made from 100% cotton, Millford is crafted on a traditional cylinder mould machine, using natural woollen felts to create its distinctive surface texture. Its internal cotton fibres are randomly placed, helping the paper stay flatter when wet and resist buckling and curling.
Engineered to hold water on the surface rather than absorb it immediately, Millford allows artists more time to work wet-on-wet, achieving smooth, luminous washes and controlled glazes. Its durable structure is excellent for colour lifting techniques, bringing the natural whiteness of the paper forward and maintaining vivid colour throughout.
