The Polymetaal HS-35 is a direct drive tabletop etching press. For its size and weight, it offers impressive performance – ideal for educational settings and individual printmakers alike. The star wheel spokes can be dismantled for easy transport and storage.

The press bed is made from laminated paper sheets set in liquid resin, then pressed under high pressure and heat, and finished with a white melamine coating. This gives it several advantages over metal beds: it won’t warp or oxidise, is highly pressure-resistant, and allows for easy registration mark drawing.

This is a top roller-driven press, with self-lubricating bronze glide bearings on the upper roller and ball bearings on the lower. The hard synthetic bed is guided on both sides by solid steel frames. The upper roller can be raised up to 4cm and is spring-assisted, making it suitable for relief techniques like lino and woodblock printing.
