Info
Rohrer & Klingner Lithographic Stick Ink is an acid-resistant ink (tusche) in stick form for drawing on stone, aluminium, and zinc plates. Highly resistant against acids, it is made of shellac, wax, soap, and a high-quality carbon black pigment. The stick tusche can be mixed with warm water or a solvent and is excellent for halftones and transitions, and will also produce rich, dark lines and solids to block out areas. Generally speaking, tusche that is mixed with water flows more freely and has a longer drying time. Mixed with other solvents tusche will penetrate more deeply into the stone. The stick tusche must be rubbed wet with water or solvent to use.
Rohrer & Klingner was established in 1892 by Johann Adolf Rohrer in Leipzig, Germany, and remains one of Europe’s premier ink and tusche producers. The company boasts a fifth generation of lithography specialists and a team that has a passion for manufacturing high specification ink. Following well established recipes, each bottle of ink is produced by hand, combining naturally binding, renewable materials with the respective colourant.
