I generally prefer my sketchbooks to be on the smaller side, so this sketchbook was perfect for my needs and for portability. I also generally work with pen and fineliner and prefer my sketchbook surface to not be too rough or toothy making this one well-suited for my artistic practice i.e. creating pen sketches and line drawings. However, I think it would still be suitable if you wanted a bit of tooth to your paper and to have a bit of texture if you’re working in pencil, chalk, pastel or graphite.Rating
A tan sketchbook such as this is perfect if you want to avoid a sketchbook with white paper and prefer your sketchbook paper to be a mid-tone tan colour. Something I enjoy about working with tan paper is being able to work in white highlights in pastel pencil or white gel pen, which this Strathmore sketchbook is great for. Personally, I enjoy decorating and personalising my sketchbook covers, so the smooth cover of this sketchbook is ideal for this. This mid-tone tan sketchbook is also just the thing you need if you’re looking to work in both light and dark colours and tones. (Posted on 21/11/2023)
