Tintoretto Prugna Synthetic Watercolour Brushes are made with high-quality synthetic fibres and a nickel plated brass ferrule. The brushes feature a short wooden aquamarine handle that is tumbled painted, therefore waterproof.Tintoretto Prugna are made with highly elastic, plum synthetic fibres with a very elongated body and a thin, and perfect tip. The body of the brush enables controlled, clean and precise brushstrokes.The series 853 is a long, round brush.

I have round size 10 and 14 Tintoretto brushes and really love them for watercolor paintings. They are quite unique because these brushes have quite stiff synthetic fibers and shaped to be very slender as compared to other brands. Very snappy, they retain their shape and sharpness exceptionally well. They also seem to hold a decent amount of water/pigment for a synthetic. What is really impressive is the exceptionally sharp point and the large taper of the brush that allows for very fine lines. Even with size 14 I can manage detail work comparable to what I'd typically do with a size 4 brush. So you may use them for decent size washes as well as fine long lines comparable very much of a rigger brush. Quality is great, it is made in Italy after all. Handle has a nice matte blue finish. I will certainly buy more Tintoretto brushes if Jackson's sold their other product lines. Highly recommend. (Posted on 11/01/2022)
