Liquitex Gloss Medium is a versatile acrylic medium that increases surface gloss, colour depth, and transparency while decreasing the viscosity of heavier body acrylics to improve flow. It will also extend colour without affecting acrylic stability and maintain paint adhesion, durability, and archival quality. This medium can also be used to make a fixative for pastel, graphite, or chalk, and as a lightweight collaging glue.
How to use:
- Fully inter-mixable with all Liquitex products
- Mix with Matte Medium to create a custom satin fluid medium
- Can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give the best results
- Mix as much as you like into acrylic colour to create the viscosity and transparency required - the more medium added, the thinner and more transparent the colour will become
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- This medium is semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry
- To fix pastel, graphite or chalk, mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomiser or airbrush
- Apply with a brush or sponge as a lightweight collaging glue
How not to use:
- Do not shake or vigorously over-brush as this can result in a foggy, hazy look when dry
- Do not use with any non-acrylic media
