Liquitex : Professional Gel Medium

Liquitex Professional Gel Medium increases gloss, extends volume, and thickens, while extending open time. It can also be used as a collaging adhesive.

With a viscosity and body similar to Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic, it's ideal for mixing with Heavy Body Artist Colour – extending paint, enhancing brilliance and transparency, without altering thickness. It dries clear to translucent depending on the thickness of the application and leaves a glossy finish.

This medium can also serve as a transparent ground in place of gesso, allowing the substrate to remain visible. To prevent Substrate Induced Discoloration (SID), pre-wash cotton or linen canvases. When applying to raw canvas, be sure to use firm pressure to work the gel into the weave for proper bonding.
