Non-porous surfaces, such as aluminium panels, Yupo paper, and gesso panels, are ideal for techniques such as scratching and erasing paint. Porous surfaces, including wood, MDF, and canvas, absorb paint more readily. Bristol paper offers a smooth, less absorbent surface compared to cartridge or watercolour paper.
