Chinese Painting

Chinese Painting, also known as Guóhuà, is a traditional art form emphasising simplicity, fluidity, and harmony with nature. Learn the basics of brushwork, ink preparation, and traditional techniques like "xieyi" (freehand painting) and "gongbi" (detailed painting). This section guides you through essential materials and methods, enabling you to create art that expresses balance and beauty.

This ancient art form is very similar in technique to calligraphy. Using a brush, the artist applies black and coloured inks to paper or silk. Composition is simple, and while areas of the surface are often left uncovered, finished work can be highly detailed and intricate.
